I posted this same question in the reef tank sectiosn but you guys may know best. I was wondering if it was alright to place a 250 watt metal halide on a 28 gallon bow front. i'm going to make a custom canopy so i can have a fan in it. Also, i'ts going to be supplemented with 65 watt Actinic power compact, this will also provide morning and evening cycle. If this will work, how high should i place the light above the tank, to keep it from over heating? thanks for any help
