from what i have read in metal halide threads that if you have the 20k bulbs you wont have to run actinics cause of the blueish color that the bulbs will put out

I run 250 watt 14 K Reeflux bulbs; and nothing else! My tank is perfect; crisp white with enough blue to make the tank perfect! I know others that run the same set up without any supplimental lighting.

If you read more into it, 14k needs supplement lighting. But if it works for you, so be it. How long have you been running it for you saying the tank is running perfect? :happyfish
