Metal Halide Question

Would it be better to put 2 175W MH bulbs over a 40 gallon breeder or would a single 400W be better. I was thinking that the 2 175's would be better because it would spread more light, but the 400W is a much better deal. :notsure:

I would recommend going with a single 250w MH with a Lumenarc III reflector. You will get the coverage you want and also save electricity.

It all depends on what K range you are going for. 20k's need the higher wattage, 10k you would not need that much wattage as they are bright enough.
