Metal Halide Question

my question is..
do i have to a buy a REEF metal halide? like a fish store type? some one is selling a metal halide for growing plants on craigs list.. would this work for clams and coral?

If the pendant can hold up to saltwater then I can't see why you couldn't use that. The bulbs that are used for agriculture are usually really low K, so you might want to swap for something in the 10,000K to 20,000K range.
