Ok, I was at Home Depot today and saw 175w MH bulbs with a medium (standard) base. I realize these are not "aquarium" bulbs.
My question is, are there any 175w or 150w MH bulbs with a medium base suitable for the aquarium?
All of the 175w and 150w I have stubled accross only have the mogul base.

IF you can find them with mogul socketets, just look at the Kelvin rating. Most of the time hardware stores only have 4k's, if i remember right, its pointless in saltwater.

Dont you use a 150w iwasaki 6500k? If so thats a medium base bulb.

no. the screw in types

I think the med and mongrul base are very simallar and can be used interchangeable. However just get the right bulbs for aqaurium use.
