Metal halide radiation question

I'm thinking of buying this light. I plan on having an open top with no hood, just the light mounted above the water. What are the dangers of radiation with this type of set up? Thanks :)

im sure that the lens cover is uv protected, so that there is no problems. actually, i think all high output lights (mh, pc, vho, etc...) bought as plug and play (not diy) come with lens covers.

How does that attatch to your tank? Just make sure it is stable and can't fall in the water if bumped or anything. Also make sure it's far enough off the water that it doesn't get splashed if a fish gets spooked.

If it has a glass lens on will limit the bulb being splashed with water... If it's glass it's probably tempered as well
