They would all most have to boost your growth. As far as twice as fast ???? Are you planning to keep light demanding corals or are you just looking for more growth?

Your lr does not need any special light. Now coraline algae seems to grow better under lighter lighting. As far as coral growth, it should help accelerate the growth.

i have had vho, and metal halide and i think the coraline grew better under vho. as far as the coral growth the lights will help but are only one part of the equation, you need good lighting, good water, and regualr feedings.

BigMac, I have experienced mass die off of my coralline sense the MH have been in. I was hoping it was temporary? When you say in your case it kills it, what do you mean?

I wonder if that's whats happening in my tank? I don't have that much light but it's dieing quick enough.
Why wouldn't someone want coralline to grow? Is it a preference thing?

Mac, when are you going to put up another tank??
I like coraline on the rock, espeically as it ages and you start getting something other than just pink/purple, but I'd gladly give up coraline on the rock if I could get it to stop growing on the glass.
Mac, I think you said that just to get me to switch over to MH for my sps's? ;)
