MH 20k bulb is very white

It's actually white with a very faint blue hue. I'm using 250w HQI XM 20k bulbs. My ballast is a dual ballast by galaxy electronics made by sunlight supply. I'm wondering if it's just the bulb I'm using or if it is possibly the ballast? If it's the bulb, does anyone have a suggestion on a bluer bulb? If it's the ballast, does anyone know of a very reliable ballast?

Most people are surprised when they first see a 20K lamp how white it really is. Your description sounds like what I'd describe 20K as.
20K is pretty much as high as they go. You wouldn't want to go any higher, coral growth would suffer.
If these are new lamps, keep in mind that halides need about 100 hours or so on the lamp before they really break in and produce the color they will produce for the rest of their usable life.
