mh ballast

can the mh ballast sold at the electrical store be used for the aquarium mh bulb. i'm trying do go the cheap way. and if they do i know how to wire them my self.

Yes. There is nothing special about the ballast. Just watch that you get the right one. Don't get a 400W ballast if you have a 175W lamp.
