mh bulbs

hi everyone
I just replaced my vho's after 4 years. I know i should have done it sooner. I got 2 super actinic vho's the ones i had 1 was white i guess ( the bulb was pink) and 1 was blue. well wasn't thinking i just bought 2 reg actinic. my metal halyide bulbs are xm 15 k. now my tank is reallllllly bluish purple. I'm due to change the mh now what k should i get to not make it so blue and make everything grow better

Best k for coral growth is 10,000k, which are also the most white bulbs, so they should balance out the actinics.

I agree... just remember to acclimate the tank to the new bulbs. There will be a decent increase in light output when you move to the 10ks so your corals will need time to adjust.

stick with the XM's, just go 10k.

I use 2-175 watt 10k XM bulbs and 2-110 watt VHO actinics...it looks pretty good and the coral growth is unreal...
