MH conversion - pendant to hood

Is there any reason why I couldnt convert a pendant style MH light to a hood mountable style? I think I would just have to but the side mounting hardware and reflector. Does this sound right?

Myself and JJetjock have just finished mounting 2 reefoptix3 250 hqi pendants inside his hood. The hardware looks great though we have not had a chance to properly burn the bulbs. We should have the hood back on the tank in about 3 hours and burning. Will let you know how it turns out. BTW they are 2 250 watt 10K hqi's with 2 110 watt super actinic vho's.
