Hi All, I just got my new lights, i was concerned with the heat. Not any more. I still have to modify my canopy to fit the hood i purchased, right now i just placed it on top of my glass tops. My temp has increased by 1 degree, holding at 80. the light are in a 36" hood with dual MH 175 10000K, and dual VHO 95 actinic. I went with a 36" for my 75 gallon just to provide an area of low light. Looks great i am so PSYCHED :)

Yeah I know what you mean. I just got my 2x250 watt MH running 3 days ago an no significant heat build up here either. Dut I am curious, How long do you run yours. And have you noticed any excessive algae growth?

How are the philiphs halides, the ones you can buy at home depot. The 250w got for 20 bucks... i know the color temp is like 4k maybe 5.5k but ill be running 2 actinic VHO blue and 2 actinic VHO white
anyone think this will work?

Hi All, I run my MH 11 hours with the VHO kicking in 2 hours before and 2 hours after. No real algea problem yet. But temp is steady, it really looks like god shinning into my tank all these cool rays beaming down :) i love my lights :)

ReefSoe,
I don't have mh lighting, but I understand that the home depot bulbs won't work. The kelvin rating I believe is way too low.
