I currently have 2 175w 10,000K MH bulbs.
If I want to keep a clam in a 90gal, how much will I have to upgrade my lighting? I have considered getting some supplemental Icecap VHO bulbs. How many 48" long ones would I need?

I think those MH lights are enough provided you place the clams up on the rocks close to the lights (Do this after acclimating them to the strong light by placing them below the tank for a few days and gradually move them up). I have a beautiful 6-inch crocea which is doing great placed in the upper third of my tank. I haven't seen it expand it's mantle like that before I got the MH. I am also using 2 175W MH bulbs. My 2 Derasas are just as happy down on the substrate. Of course the VHO bulbs may help but you can do without them. I am planning to add some a Maxima Ultra. I heard they are easier to keep than crocea. I know of website selling the best ones if you see their pics, you'll drool (like I did :p ) Just ask.
