MH vs VHO for a 50gal

I have heard many sides. Some people side w/MH others w/VHO. But the question I have know is what would be best for my 50. i currently have one URI VHO and I have some live rock w/more on the way. I want to keep soft corals/ clams/ and maybe some hard corals. So what is the best lighting for what I have. Oh my tank is 48in long

Yeah there are overheating issues. Cooling fans would probably take care of it or you could get a pendant mh.

You'll need 2 lamps for a 48" tank, at approx. $125.00 ea. If you suspend the lights above the tank (no hood) you can use a box fan to keep it cool. Buy a HD timer and plug the fan and the lights into a surge strip and plug the strip into the timer. :happyfish
