i currently have two 175W MH on my 125 gal tank the bulbs are 10K I have 2 atlantic blue VHO's on it also. so i was thinking what if i put 20K bulbs in the MH instead of 10K's and swich the atlantic blues with 10K VHO bulbs what Kelven would i equal out to? would this hurt my coral's?

the 20k's are much less intense then the 10k's....much lower PAR rating. I would stick with the 10k's, unless you are looking for something extremely blue...

just for fun what do you think it would look like with 20K and 2 atlantic's? i think it would look good but my corals would hate me for it.

If you want to see what it will look like...google "cnidarianreef MH"
If you go with the 20K's, you won't see good growth unless you have 400 watters. There is generally a trade off between growth and color.

A good reference site was listed and would check it out, but you have to remember it's not always about the light color you want to see it's what our tank inhabitants need before our own eyes

I would rather my corals be happy and healthy and my tank color look like crap than it have good color.
