Today i hooked up my dual 175 mh, Not sure if i like them. I have a 265 before i just han 4 vho 72in sitting right on the thank. Now i had to move them and the mh 7in off the water. I posted this before asking the question of what would you all go with 2 more vho bulbs( i wish i woul have)or 2 mh 175 watt. First the shimmer affect , maybe thats just new but i dont care for that so far. Second the color is not as even and is not as nice.So what do you all think about that, So if there is others out there thinking between the two VHO all the way.

I think you'd be better served with adding more MH's....Your tank won't have even light distribution and possibly shadowing effects....A MH covers roughly a 2x2 area....

I'm curious, how long is your tank? Id still run the four VHO's two in front and two in back, but change them to all blues, and definatly add more MH. I'll post a pic of the under side of mine. Maybe it will help. I do understand what your saying. At one time I was running 8 72" URI VHO's on a 150g the tank was 72" long and really liked the display look of the lighting and was disapointed in the begining when switched to MH. It took a little time to find the look I wanted.
