Micro Bubbles?

I have a 14 gallon BC. I am running the Oceanic protein skimmer in the first compartment and a phosphate sponge in the middle one and nothing but the pump and heater in the last one... My problem is, i just got the maxi jet 1200 to replace the rio 800 i had as the return and i am getting lots of micro bubbles in the display. I turned off the protein skimmer thinking that could be the problem but still not a fix any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure that the hose going from the outlet of the return up to the outlet into the tank is connected properly??

+1 you are sucking air in the return hose probably at the connection at the top of the compartment where it goes back into the display. Work on that top connection a little, make sure the small bushing that is inside the tube and goes into the elbow is sticking out enough to seal in both pcs. Also make sure the connection is straight. If crooked at all there will be an air leak.
