Micro Bubbles

This is my first tank with a sump and overflow, i have a hose connected to a pump in my sump which runs up the back of my tank and into my water, the end has a non-return valve (i think thats what its called) incase i have powerout and my sump wont overflow.
im having trouble with micro bubbles, is the only reason for micro bubbles is if a connection is not in water? tank and sump levels are fine

Are bubbles entering the return pump from the sump, or are bubbles made because of splashing in to the DT

bubbles form into the DT, its not a splash though, the return hose is actually in the water

The back flow preventer will be open all the time the pump is on. This will allow calcium to build up in the seal of the preventer and this can let a siphon to flow to the sump and overflow it. I would have a hole in a pipe something like this pic

Here's my sump if I remove the blue sponge from the bubble trap water splashes and micro bubbles are pumped in to the DT.
If you just set it up it may just need to run to clear any air in the line also...

mines a lot different from yours, a friend set it up for me but didnt do it right, was supposed to get a return pipe directly into the bottom of the tank but forgot the part so i just have a pump with a hose going around the back of my tank and in the water, There are no bubbles in my sump, i will take some pics and post

You have your skimmers output next to your return pump. Move your skimmer to the first or second chamber and add a filter sponge if bubbles are still getting into your display tank.

Nice tank :t^:
Get some more pics of the sump and overflow as something does not look right. Or I just am not seeing how it is working.

If your bubbles are from the skimmer you can put it in the sump say near the overflow.
