Microbacter7 & Start2??

Does anyone have any experience with Brightwell's Microbacter7 or Zeo's Start2?
I have been doing research on both of these products and it seems that the use of either of these products is just to add bacteria to the tank. Is this similar to vodka dosing?? Vodka dosing is feeding the bacteria already in the tank and causing the bacteria to grow...but it seems that these other 2 products just add bacteria instead of grow it...is this correct??
Would there be any benefit over using one of these 2 products rather than vodka dosing?

On another site I was just told that Start2 is not a bacteria, but is a carbon source....so in my mind, that would be the same as dosing vodka.

Really?? Nothing for anyone??
I'm now really really considering vodka dosing....I am looking around in my local club to see if anyone has a Phosphate Photometer and Nitrate Photometer that they could loan me while I experiment with the vodka dosing.
