Microbubble amazement.

So Ive had Microbubbles in my DT ever since startup. Last night I was watching my tank and playing with my dremil and cawe up with a solution in about 3 minutes. I simply took a small clean rubbish bin cut two slots in the side near the top, then fliped it over and added a hole on the bottom. I took one of those weird plastic knitting screen things and melted it over the two slots cut in the side as a safty screen. I flipped the bin over and put my return pump in side and no more bubbles. Why didnt i think of that before? Just thought id share

You should have added more baffles to your sump. If your picture is drawn semi-accurately, you only have one, but that one wont stop microbubbles. That one baffle forces the bubbles to the bottom of the sump, to eliminate bubbles you need to force the bubbles to the surface where they can pop.
I noticed that when i removed the foam filter thing from my return pump, it stopped producing microbubbles.

Correct, My sump setup is far from correct. It was a emergency throw together that unfortunately is now semi permanent. I plan on Purchasing a correctly built sump when my budget allows. Until then I guess its this kind of thing.

Just because you have tons of baffles in your sump doesn't mean anything!!!! If the trap design isn't built correctly over/under whatever or the spacing is to close the bubbles will still manage to get through your traps. Another problem could be the flow actually through the sump as well. If your trying to get all your flow for your tank through the sump, and the sump isn't big enough traps are negate as well. It might also be possible that your microbubble issue isn't entirely coming from the sump. It could be coming from the lines from your return pump sucking air as well.
