Microbubbles From Return

I just set the tank up last week and have been checking very carefully for leaks and whatnot. Today, I actually looked inside the tank in detail and realized that there are a good amount of microbubbles coming from the return. There are no microbubbles in my wet/dry return chamber though, so I don't know where they are coming from. Is there anything that I can put on the end of my return elbow (the one in the tank) to cut down on the bubbles?

My return has a very small hole right above where the water comes out and it causes microbubbles. I cut a hole in a small piece sponge and slid the return end into the hole so that the sponge wraps around it tightly. This took care of it
