Microbubbles in a 12 gallon BioCube

Friend of mine has a Bio Cube....has the carbon in the first chamber, rubble in the second, and the sponge in the third and is having some microbubbles going in his tank...suggestions.?

does he have the water filled above the "minimum" line on the left side of the tank? Typically the water is too low and the pump begins to spit bubbles when there isn't enought water in the chamber.

super glue anywhere you think air may be getting into your tank. I had this problem several times, but it kept reoccurring and this has put a complete stop to it.
