Midas Blennie found dead this morning in QT.

I came to do my daily feeding ritual this morning.
I fed my main tank, then went over to my QT, and found the Blennie dead at the bottom of the tank!!!
He was FINE last night! I don't understand why he died???? He's been eating regularily, didn't have a HINT of disease at all!!!
I'm testing my water parameters right now.
I'm expecting to find high ammonia because of the dead blennie..
So far, results are the following:
temp: 82
SG: 1.023
Trites: 0
will post more results in a few minutes,...
I guess no one knows what could have caused this????

I had him for only 9 days.
He was in QT as I had mentioned.
He was eating, and was very active, and sociable.
Water levels were normal.
He was eating small amounts of Formula2, Enriched Brine, and went crazy for Nutrifin flake food.
It was just a freak death I guess :(
As for the QT tank, it consists of the following:
29 Gal tank
Emperor 400 Filter w/Biowheels
Heater (at 82 degrees)
Powerhead for circulation
Lava rock and piece of black PVC in tank.
I'll post a pic later on tonight.

What did I do wrong?????
:(

Any ammonia whatsoever is potentially lethel to fish. I'm sure that was it. What is your pH? Ammonia becomes all the more toxic the higher the pH.

Ammonia was 0 before he died. Like I had mentioned in the post, the ammonia levels were there because of the dead fish who had been dead for what seems the entire night.
pH is 8.0
..... :(

Another suggestion is he could have been sick before you got him to! Just did not show signs until now!
