ok 2 things...
1) it has popeye... i think... i went on vacation for 2 weeks and came back to find one of his eyes bigger than the other..(dont worry though, he had a great octositter while i was gone!)
2) one of its tentacles is missing!!! have no clue where it is... its like something ate it or something, but it has no other tankmates...

so what should i do about the eye?? It pains me to look at the poor thing!

I moved this to the invert forum hoping it will get some views. You posted in the Fish Disease Forum.
I am no oct expert, but I know you can't medicate. What other aggressive animals do you have in your tank?

No octo expert either, but are all returns/PHs covered? Im picturing a scenario where his tentacle got sucked off by a powerhead or something like that, and maybe the eye the same.

Watch for signs of autophagia. Unfortunately one sickness some octos fall victim to causes them to eat their own arms. As for the "popeye" it could be bacterial infection or physical trauma which could lead to bacterial infection, and as already mentioned, you can't treat an octopus with anything you would treat a fish with. There are some octopus safe anti-biotics but I can't recall what the names are.
You'd probably get some decent help at TONMO, considering the board there is dedicated strictly to cephalopod keeping. I know someone had an octopus with cloudy (ill-looking) eyes and treated with something and it cleared up. There was a lot of discussion about it and the owner gave lots of helpful details.
I assume you've checked your water parameters since you've returned. How many water changes were done while you were gone? They can reak havoc on water quality pretty quick.

Please give us an update on your octopus. Every bit of information helps, especially in an area where there isn't much information in the first place.
