I have a Yellow Mimic Tang and up until about a week or so ago it seemed to get along with my star polyps without any issues. He roams around the tank 75G and picks at the rocks and sometimes sand and the polyps a bit, but I thought maybe he was just getting off some algae. I added a diamond goby about a week ago to the main tank and after that is seemed like the star polyps didn't come out as much. After about that week time it seemed like there weren't any of them coming out at all. I moved the rock with the polyps off of the sand and up higher in the tank thinking that it was just the sand being moved and the goby bothering it taht made it not open and that it would help. I moved my second rock with the polyps to my QT tank and after one day it has started to open back up. The tang still looks like it is picking at the polyps along with the other rocks.
If I fed him more algae or lettuce (haven't done this, not sure which kind to feed him), would he not pick on the polyps? Any other ideas?
