"Easy" isn't included in a seahorse keeper's vocabulary
, but here's my 2 cents. I'd go with ponies(dwarf seahorses). I've kept them in 5, 10, 15, 29, and 45 gallon tanks, but prefer the 15. IMHO they are a lot tougher than their larger cousins. They do require you to hatch live baby brine shrimp for their food, but the results, for me anyhow, are much more rewarding..than the experiences I had with my H. Kuda and H. Erectus. Since this forum has begun many of us have been experiencing almost identical problems....bring healthy seahorse home....seahorse is dead by fourth day. I started this thread to try a figure out what was happening:

this one will keep you up...

I am currently starting a new setup for ponies, my 15 gallon high with a 55 gallon sump. I'm going to load the 55 sump with DS, DR,(which I have boiled to destroy any hitch hikers) and then add my own cultured LS and LR. Followed by a ton of macros, pods, and ghost shrimp. Somewhere within the next month I'm going to connect the 15 gallon DT to the 55 sump tank. The DT will be landscaped with cultured LS and everything else will be artificial.
I'm anticipating adding my ponies by end of October.
Please ask away, I'll be happy to help
