Mini-bow lighting

I asked about mini-bows yesterday and someone told me that the 10 watt lighting that came with it was wimpy so I got a 25 watt blue light hoping to emulate the 50/50s on my cube. and all I can say is that I must be spoiled in the standard nano cube lighting because I am appauled by how puny the output is for this tank. My beautiful zoos look almost ugly under the dingy lighting of this unit.
I bought this tank because I wanted to be able to frag a few polyps and feed them richley with phyto without having to put the same amount in my cube by comparison. Also i didn't have enough room for small frags. This tank was also so I could take pictures of just the frag without intusion of other corals.
If anyone has any suggestions on a better bulb that gives of more light... PLEASE :help:
as usual way more info than people care to read.

Was that bulb a compact flourescent?
The phyto was actually unnecessary and useless. The polyps can't eat it because it's too small.

The box does not say what type of bulb it is. Also it is very puzzling to me that you should say that the phyto is useless. A number of websites as well as other members of this site have said that feeding zoanthids the smaller varieties of phyto is good for speedier propogation. Infact I was first told to add phyto by a member of this site(thomas712, I think). You are the first(and only) person to tell me that it is useless.
I need to research this because I don't want waste my money.
sorry if I come off as a bit standoff-ish. I really am a pretty cool person

Common mistake, and I also thought the same until not too long ago. Only tunicates, clams and other mollusks, dusters, sponges, zooplankton, some invert larvae, maybe some gorgonians and dendroneptheas. I might have forgotten one or two other things, but I'm sure you get the point.
I'd also add that protien skimmers, algea, and cyanobacteria love the stuff.
Zoos and other polyps might be able to eat zooplankton though. And mushrooms are capable of eating even bigger pieces like some mysis shrimp or krill.

Try Coral lifes 10 or 20 watt screw in type 50/50 bulbs......Seen some other MB's with them on another forum and they seem to look and do good.......Of course you can always modify the hood. I modified my wifes MB2.5 and installed PC 50/50's of 2x13 and 1x9 light assemblies in it that were from the Red Sea Deco Art clamp on type lights, I got at a super close out price and it has been doing fine. Deco Arts 7 watt clamp on dragonfly series comes with a 7 watt bulb but the ballast is rated 9 watts......
