Mini Brittle Star Question

I'm curious how these guys reproduce, and how often. The reason I am asking is one of my tanks has a large population of these in it and the other has none. I have been catching and transfering some from one tank to another and I am curious how many will be needed to seed the other tank to get the population going.

One. Thats all it would take. Theoretically.
They split through fission i believe, meaning that they just split in half and now there are two. If this is correct, you can how they will reproduce at an exponential rate. I think that I may even have too many in my tank. They are literally, everywhere you look.

Ok that's what I thought but wanted to make sure. I know what you mean by too many as once the lights go out they are crawling everywhere. Of course there is no such thing as too many since they are great detrivores.
