well I was breaking down my 2.5 again. I have decided I just am not a nano or pico tank person. I can never get them the way I want them. but I digress.
after breaking down the tank i had the sand leftover... what to do with it. I put it all in a tall tupperware. about 7 inches deep. 4 inches around. I placed the tub with sand in my baffeless sump so i now have a mini DSB in my sump. the DT already has a 6 inch DSB, but figured what the heck why not. I got thinking about it and thought it would be a great way to add even a small amount of denitrification to tanks even without a sump by using the mini dsb you could hide it behind your rock work. sort of like the remote DSB idea only smaller.
