Minimum Order?

Saltwaterfish.com can you please remove the minimum order? I realize that you lowered it, but can you pelase remove it. My main argument for this is the rates fedex is charging because of the price of fuel. In order to meet the minimum order charge we are forced to pay around 70 dollars. We are paying more for shipping than the item we are buying. I realize the nation is in a bad economy right now but in order to support you guys (which I would) I would have to make large orders from you guys to make the money worthwhile.
An example would be
I wanted to buy 10 blue leg hermit crabs from you guys
The price of these is 10 dollars for a group of ten.
I need to order 40 to meet the minimum charge.
And for just 5 more dollars I can get 10 more hermits.
This is what the rates where today
FedEx Shipping Fee = $6.99
Box & Handling Fee = $9.99
Temporary Fuel Charge = $17.99
Live Goods Total = $74.93
Now the box and handling fee I am good with. And I understand the fuel charge but that makes the price pretty ridiculous. I'm going to get into some math here
Original 10 hermits that I wanted: 10.00 (rounded up)
shipping fees= 35 dollars
total price equals 45 dollars
(woot that math was hard

)
So basicaly my point is with the current economy can you please remove the minimum order?

This is the reason I went back to my LFS.
It's to expensive to buy on line.
Which is a darn shame I really like this site.

At least we still have the Message Boards!

Sorry, we can't lower the minimum. But we do offer a low price guarantee. See the front of the site for details.

Unfortunately SWF’s low price guarantee is only good for online purchases only, which I fully understand.
But for a single order, say a 4-Wheel Drive Goby for instance, your price is “on sale” for $18.99 (very good price) but my LFS sells it for $29.95.
No Brainer here and “almost” everything you sell is available at my LFS.
Please, I am not bashing SWF.com, best prices and site ONLINE, only trying to show you our point of view.
I understand some people do not have a good LFS like I do and online is their only way to buy fish, I just wish there were a way to lower prices a little bit.
