Yellow fish with black stripes? IVE seen those, really nice schooling fish no? I stayed away because i heard they get over a foot long and grew fast!
If you see them tiny, i would say no smaller than a 120g.

They get huge and need alot of open swimming space. Full Grown they'll need atleast a 500 gallon tank.

Golden jacks grow to 3 1/2 feet. I don't know why they are sold in stores. They need a tank over 500 gallons.

i had no idea they got that big and i have no where near that big of a tank, but i would love to one day

Sure they grow fast; they eat anything. In the wild, they follow sharks and other large fish around and scarf the leftovers when the large predatory fish eats. There is a common misconception that they lead sharks to food- that's where the name "pilot" fish comes from. They don't. They're freeloaders; like remoras and many of my relatives.

these fish only cost 19.99 on this website and the only thing they tell you about them is that they come to you at 2 or 3 inches. how can a fish that needs such an exceptional aquarium be sold for so cheap and with so little info

That's what forums like this are for. researching potential fish are a big and educational part of the hobby. A web site that provided all info on all available species would be impossible to navigate and keep updated; the knowledge base on this great hobby expands every day.WELCOME! YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE TO LEARN! Do you homework and remember that experiences and opinions vary from one person to the next. Your question on price is economics 101; some fish are easy to capture and there isn't much demand--thus a lower price.
