missing clowns

i got 2 false perculas and 1 blue-green chromis last saturday and yesterday morning one clown was missing... then yesterday after work the second clown was missing. I still have the chromis, but I cant find the clowns anywhere, not even on the floor next to the tank from jumping out.... They looked great and showing no signs of illness, levels have all been great.. Also, I have seen zero change in my ammonia levels that I tested once yesterday and again today.... Can anyone solve this mystery?

What's your aquascape like? Are you sure they havn't found a cozy nook somewhere in the tank?

cosy nook? as in they're still alive? dont think so, I've feed them and had the lights off and nothing... unless you mean there dead somewhere and I was thinking there might be an ammonia spike???

Yes what I was asking, being there are two, was if there might be a cozy spot they might have found to go to. You are certain they are dead?

no, not certain...but 95%.... I kinda feel like moving LR around until I find something, anything dead or alive.... someone told me it could be a deadly shrimp....

Well mantis shrimp will attack fish, but bottom dwellers are the first to go as they are easy prey. You would also hear them snapping at night. If all of your specs are fine. I am guessing they found a romantic nook in the rocks. But you may want to check to be sure.

its a possibility they might have jumped over into the overflow. today, i just found my mystery wrasse sitting dead on top of my filter pad which is right where my water comes in from tank to the refugium, my first death...but he committed suicide jumping into the overflow. i'm bummed.

one of my clowns was sucked up into my bio wheel filter, found him dead where the filter fan spins.

SOLVED! - I have a maxi-jet 900 that is the intake for the bak-pak skimmer.... and I was given a piece from a LFS that has two small hose intakes on the end and fits into the intake on the maxi-jet... on top of this thing is a sliding open square that allows water to come in.... these baby perculas had been sucked in there and then got chewed up by the motor... anyway I cut a piece of plastic into a guard that I was able to install in that "square" area and thus making it impossible for the fish to ever find there way in there again....
Bad News - Lost 2 fish totaling $38
Good News - I now feel good about replacing them, and get to do so tomm. night!!!
