I have a 30 long, setup for about 3 months... local aquarium maint weekly... a few weeks ago i bought a bubble tip anemone... it quickly split... each one has settled into an opening on the same rock... one on each side... PROBLEM is one is open as long as the lights are OFF... in the am before lights come on its open... within minutes of the lights coming on it shrinks up into hole where it can barely be seen... any suggestions? i thought it was supposed to be just the opposite
thanks

Anenomes in general will open and close when they want, just because they are photosynthetic animals doesnt mean they need it when ever the lights are on. Depending on how powerful your lights are bubble tips may acutally move away from such strong lighting. As long as it has its color and is inflating at times you should be ok. Just keep watching, its not uncommon for a BTA to go secluded for a bit and stretch out when it wants. Yours might just be getting over the whole splitting thing.
