Mixing different salts?

I normally use Instant Ocean for my tanks. I just placed and order online for the 200g box to refill my bucket. When it arrived it was the reef crystals instead so I called to ask why and I turns out to be my fault. So they'll take it back but on my dime for shipping. I know mixing the two probably won't be an issue but thought I'd ask the forums opinion? I will get the normal IO next time around so I'll be mixing half a bucket of IO with the reef crystals. I'm running FO in one tank and fowler in another.

You will be fine. Just like with all new batches of salt check your levels after they are mixed.

Its not a problem... BUT. I found that the new boxes have different concentrations than the buckets. The boxes require less salt than the buckets. I used 1o measures of the bucket salt to make 55 gallons, but with the boxes I only use 8. Just check it if you are used to your old measurements.

alot of people buy two different salts.
the most common combination is Instant Ocean + Oceanic. The Instant ocean has higher ALK and the Oceanic has higher Calcium. When you mix you get the best of both worlds.

I don't usually go my measure I just keep an eye on the SG. I haven't really noticed any issues with the IO. It's always available in my area and a certain online retailer has has some super deals on it so until I find a reason to switch I'll keep using it. Do the 200g box fit in the buckets correctly? I was buying the buckets since they seem to be handy to have until this time around.
