Hello all
Is it ok to have 45Lb of Fiji LR and 45Lb of Indonisian LR in the same tank?
Cheers

hay,
depends on size of your tank if it can handle 90kg but yes i know lots of people that have a mix problem is they worth about the same price and fiji rock looks much better.
if you do go mixed put indi as base and put fiji on top and put a few fiji on bottom front of the tank to hide the indi imo.
i did that on my last tank before it split due to moving house.
no problem with it at all being mixed.

i did few months ago but i moved house and my tank at the bottom compleatly split. i personally allways wanted to get rid of my indy as i only wanted one kind type of LR fiji that's just my opinion on that but because it split i had to get rid of most of it. there was never any problems. on the bonus side you get a big variety of little critters. what i would do if it's a new tank buy 40kg of fiji LR then buy the rest in uncured LR as this can save you money or even use reef bones too as they can become live after a while. this is what im doing to my tank this week when it bluddy arrives (my insurance tank) intotal i spent bluddy $3,000 on the thing so far. still not here (sorry for rant) lol been waiting 2 mnoths for it.

Just to answer you original post, yes you can mix live rock from different areas the dominant algae and critters will. Inhabit both

remember fiji is a bit more denser then indy and indy is much more ighter and porous then fiji. so you could buy like 20kg indy and 20kg fiji and youll recive more indy pieces then fiji. so if you need to save a few pennies indy will give more for less and still does the same job.see both do have thier ups and downs.

Good one the more porous the l/r the better.
The less dense the better.
