mixing ls and cc??

I have gone through the majority of the threads to find out this question, but really didn't find an answer.
I have a 75 gallon tank with about 30 lbs of cc in it right now, but after reading everyones responses on it I want to add sand to it also. Will this be okay and about how much do I need?
Right now we have had it cycling for almost 7 weeks, with live rock and tonga fingers in it, also a couple of tester fish.
Do I just put it in there on top of the cc?

it wont matter if you add sand, as it will all sink to the bottom and you cant even tell you had it. just take the cc out

It would be most benificial for you to take the CC out now before getting Fish and a cleaner crew...
It's a little bit of work but it will pay off in the future. You won't have to vacuum out the CC on a weekly basis and won't have nitrate problems like you would with the CC...

There is no point in adding the sand if you don't remove the CC first. The sand will cover the CC, but over time, the CC will work back to the top and you will be back at square one. It will cause problems in the long run and will be harder to remove the longer you wait.
