mixing of tangs

I'm looking to get advice on like the title says mixing different species of tangs in one tank and know if it's suitable/possibly to do so. I have a sailfin tang already in my tank, i'm interestedin the hippo tangs. I like the way the hippos look in a tank and just the flow they have it's so gentile and peaceful looking. I just don't know if it's possible to mix the species or if there will be any negative ramifications from doing so. Like how the clowns are they pair up and kill off the others in the tank. I'm looking to get one if possible in the next 2-3 months. Thanks for any advice

There are never any guarantees when it comes to fish compatibility. That said, you can mix some tangs. Look for animals who differ in coloration and body shape. I have kept a hippo and a yellow together with no problem. My desjardini is a very peaceful member of my tank, and I have no doubt that he would get along with a hippo, but I would anticipate problems with another sailfin, or even a yellow tang because they are similar in body shape, so represent potential competitors for food, mates, etc.
