mixing red firefish with purple firefish

hello,
i am interested in obtaining one of each. however, i read that they will be territorial against each other. but they will be in a 72 gallon tank, plenty of room for each other, seeing that their standard requirements are 10 gallons. does anyone have any experience keeping such a pair? if so, how was the experience?

In my experience... no.
I had both a purple and red for about 12 months in a 6ft reef tank. Got on fine until one day when they didn't.
Came home from work one day to find them battering each other. Purple didn't make it.
Red firefish still doing fine strong some five months on.

man i must've been drunk when i started this thread. i don't even remember starting it. but i appreciate the response, because i like both of them, but it won't be fair to them to keep both types if they won't get along. though i will probably lean to a pair of red firefish due to the cost, and honestly, i think they are more attractive because their dorsal(correct one?) is always alot taller, like a cb radio antenna.
i'm trying not to put too expensive of fish into my tank, just in case the worse case scenario happens, i won't get mad because of all the money put into the livestock. my brother had a really nice arowana that he invested alot into it, and it died with no explanation. i see some of them 100-500 dollar fish out there and i just think, "if that thing got ick, i'd be taking sick days at work just to get rid of it"
