I have a 55 gallon drum set up with a heater in it. When I add the salt how do I keep it mixed up until I add it to my tank?

Well what I do is I place a power head in my container mixing the water atleast 24 hours before I need it. But I have left it in the tank 2-3 days mixing with the power head and heater.

Hi,
Remove the heater, the colder the better when mixing new saltwater. Keep it churned up with the power head for 24 hours and keep any from forming sedient on the bottom by giving the water a good manual stir as you add the salt.
As Pepito said, you can make it days in advance.

That's what I did and it worked like a charm----I used to have to lift buckets (35 gallons) Now I turn the pump on which is in the basement and it pumps the water up to the tank. Sweet! Thanks!
