I have just finished filling my tank and checking the plumbing and pumps. now I'm ready to mix the salt. Is it as easy as just pouring it in and letting the pumps mix it?
If you are simply establishing a tank then you can just pour it in and mix it to the proper salinity / specific gravity. After that establish proper habits like mixing for 24-48 hours, bring it to proper temp and S.G./Salinity.
It's worth mentioning that if you are adding live sand or rock, either mix the salt outside the tank or add it once you have the water in and mixed.
Neither live sand nor rock will tolerate the freshwater or mixing process.
