what is everyones opinions? I had a koralia #2 and switched it with a modded maxi 900 and the 900 seems to be pushing more water than the #4's that I have in the tank. true? what about the 1200? any opinions? I see the 1200 is 20 watts tho
maxi-jet 900:
8.5 watts
stock gph 230
modded gph ?
koralia #4:
12 watts
1200 gph
no mods

the maxi-jet with the large (white) propeller is WAY more powerful than a K4. with the small (black) prop its just a little more powerful but the maxijet mod flow is more direct. wether the maxi-jet works well with a wavemaker depends on how well the prop works with the maxi-jet size which seems to be luck of the draw. For example I put the large prop with a 1200 and it started fine and operated quietly. Put the small prop with the 1200 and it was noisy all the time. Put the small prop with a 400 (which is what I currently use) and start up is noisy (actually wont start unless I play with the housing) but operates quietly once started.
the gph are as follows for the small prop:
maxi 400= 1400gph
maxi 600= 1500gph
maxi 900= 1600gph
large prop is only supposed to be used with the 1200 (maybe 900 too, cant remember) and is 2100gph. this is all in regards to the Sure-flow kit btw.

I had two hk4's in the 90 gal and the flow was decent. i got a maximod1200 and the flow is awe inspiring with all three.
i like how small the maximod is vs the hk4, but i had an issue with the suction cups sticking so i got the magnet as well. also... the maximod is so powerful that it pushes the pump towards the holder (the little ball/rod) which can cause havoc with your sand...but once the coralline encrusted it stopped moving.

Modded Maxi Jet. I use the 1200 with the white propeller and it says it pushes 2100gph. I can feel it all the way to the other side of my 125. I love it

I've seen and have a link to a diy video that claims to mod a maxi-jet 240g up to near 1200gph, so I suppose it would depend on the mod.

the maxi mod comes with a special propeller for mj1200's and one for the smaller pumps. says in the instructions it's 2100 i believe, or close to it.

sorry about the time to reply. the wife and I went out of town for the weekend.
I would like to add the maxi 1200 but it draws 20watts. So I was thinking of just replacing my 2 #4's with modded 900's, or maybe doing 3.
