Currently setting up 20g reef. Have 25lbs of sand with 30 lbs of aragamax sand. While cycling the tank, I have been running my Tetratec 300 (with out the sponge of course). I have the filter pads in without any carbon in order to clear up the water. Should I keep these pads in for the future, or eventually get rid of the pads? I definitely don't have the biosponge in place.
