mods for 5 gal eclipse: lights and filter

Hello all,
I have a 5g eclipse that I originally set up as a standalone fuge (to swap out cheato to and from the DT for pod population to feed Mr.mandarin) and Ive decided Id like to Ditch the stock hood and filter combo and get new stuff so I could maybe throw some shrooms or something in there.
Light
Stock light is a PC eclipse brand that is yellower than Ive seen anywhere. Its hideous.
The closest thing I think would fit would be the coralife mini-reef light which is 18w and 9" with a 50/50 setup. My tank is a hex so I really cant fit anything too long. Im sure a 12" would hang over the edges and look very ugly. Any feedback on this fixture?
I was also thinking about maybe a clamp on? Not really interested in a MH because of the evaporation problem. Anyone have any suggestions on a decent clamp on with PCs?
Filter
Being that Ill need more space on the top for a better light, I was thinking of ditching the filter and getting a HOB filter that would pump out a little more flow because the stock one sucks. The only thing Ive found that looks like it would work is one of those marineland penguin 100 filters (biowheel) and they have the space in the back for a cartridge (which I could replace with more LR or cheato) Is this a good choice or no?
Thirdly:
I need something in there to move the sand. Ive got a 2-3" sandbed and a few peices of LR along with cheato and graoe caulerpa that I stole from my DT tank (my 44g pent)
Livestock in there now is 2 hermies and 1 snail, and my lettuce nudibranch that I also stole from my DT (ao my fuzzy dwarf wouldnt eat him)
Tank has been up for a little over a month and is done cycling, full of pods, and ready for some ACTION

thanks for your help

Also, has anyone ever heard of Rio Mini Sun LED daylights?
They have day and blue lights for a reef for like 30 bucks

Wonder how much juice they pump out? I know leds are alot brighter than regular lights per watt.

Ya Ive seen those, but they are only 10watts which is like less than 2 watts per gallon. Thats not alot of light.
