HI....
I WAS ADVISED TO PLACE THIS HERE....
MY QUEEN ANGELS EYE IS BULGING AND WAS ADVISED
TO USE MARACYN TWO FOR TREATMENT...
WAS TOLD NOT TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON MED BOX
AND TO FOLLOW YOUR TREATMENT ADVISE....
ALSO...I DO NOT HAVE A QT TANK YET..... SO THE ANGEL WILL BE TREATED IN A F/O WITH CRABS,LIVE SAND... 125 GAL TANK....W/ WET/DRY FILTER, PROTEIN SKIMMER, UV STER.... ETC....
DOES ANYTHING NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN DURING TREATMENT?
WAITING FOR YOUR TREATMENT PLAN....
THANKS MUCH...
REGARDS...

Marine, antibiotics will kill off your "live" sand and crabs [or any inverts] can not tolerate antibiotics. If you have LR, antibiotics will kill it as well.
You can use Maracyn Two for saltwater fish in a strictly FO tank. It would be cheaper, however, to set up a $50 hospital tank than to subject your main tank to such a hit [that costs money too].
However, before you do anything, can you give more details about what is going on with the fish? How long have you had it? How big is it? Was the eye injuried? Any aggression in the tank with outer fish? Is the eye cloudy as well? When did this problem start? When is the last time you did a water change? Can you post your water readings.

HI BETH...
THANKS FOR LOOKING AT THIS POST....
MY QUEEN ANGEL...ABOUT 6" IN LENGTH.....GOT HIM ABOUT
3 WEEKS AGO....HES FAT...EATING VERY WELL AND BELEIVE IT
OR NOT....GETTING ALONG WITH EVERYONE IN THE TANK....
NOT STRESSED OUT AT ALL.....HIS EYE IS BULGING VERY NOTICEABLY .....HOWEVER, HIS EYE IS CRYSTAL CLEAR....WATER PARAMETERS ARE EXCELLENT AND A WATER CHANGE WAS DONE ABOUT 1 1/2 MONTHS AGO...WHEN I HAD ICK IN THE TANK AND DID A HYPOSALINITY....REMEMBER I EMAILED YOU ABOUT HYPOSALINIY....THIS WAS PRIOR TO HIM BEING PLACED IN THE TANK....HIS EYE DOESNT SEEM TO BE INJURED AND THIS STARTED
I BELEIVE ABOUT 2-3 DAYS AGO....
SAMMY SAID I SHOULD GET MARACYN 2 AND TREAT HIM IN A HOSPITAL TANK....WE OBTAINED THE MEDS TODAY AND THE PACKAGE SAID TO USE X AMOUNT FOR 20 GALS....THIS WILL COST ME A FORTUNE TO TREAT A 125 PROPERLY ....SO, I ALSO GO AND
PURCHASE A 20 GAL COMPLETE SET-UP FOR A QT/HT....ITS ONE OF THE SET-UPS FROM PETSMART FOR $80...IS THIS OK FOR A QT?
ANOTHER QUESTION....SETTING UP THE QT/HT....
CAN I JUST FILL IT WITH WATER FROM THE 125 ?
SHOULD I PUT A PIECE OF FILTER PAD FROM MY 125 WET/DRY IN THE FILTER BOX OF THE 20 GAL QT ?
WHAT SHOULD I PUT IN THE TANK ?
CAN I SAFELY PUT THE QUEEN ANGEL IN THERE RIGHT AWAY ?
THE 125 IS STILL IN HYPOSALINITY...
ALSO, THE GUY IN THE STORE SAID THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY LOW SALINITY...NEVER HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE !
THANKS AGAIN...
REGARDS...

Sammy, glad to finally hear the good news about the angel!
There's no problem with treating the fish with the M2, double the manufacturer's recommended dose for 5 days. You're problem is just setting up a hospital tank that isn't established. You will bascially have to babysit your hospital for the next 10 days or so to keep it from going in to a cycle. Antibiotics will kill off nitrifying bacteria, and, since you'll really have very little of this to begin with, then you are going to have to pay very close attention to water quality in the new hospital. Water changes, water changes, water changes.
How much better is the fish's eye? If it seems that the eye is improving, then lets see what happens over the next few days. In the meantime, set up your hospital and place your filter media/pads [whatever] in your main tank so that it can start establishing a biofilter. Offer your fish some garlic soaked food [soaked for at least 1 hr]. Garlic has a mild antibacterial quality to it. If the fish starts to decline or doesn't improve, you will then have the hospital up and ready to go.
Sorry, I'm not very available these days. My computer is broken and I have to "borrow" time on my son's computer.
 And his puter is barely operational! :(
