Molting hermit Crabs

Is it okay to leave there molts in the tank? I have been cause there are so many of them and it is such a pain in the ... to pull them out. I simply leave the in the tank along with whatever empty snail shells I have from snails that have been eaten.
Bad practice? Good Practice? Or personal Opinion?

I also leave the molts in the tank, it`s kinda cool because my hermits just end up eating the molt anyway.

I always leave my hermit and shrimp molts in the tank, if nothing else it puts the calcium they consumed back into the system. Not sure what consumes them but they are usually gone in a couple of days.
