I have a tyree undata. I bought it about three weeks ago. First week it was fine but lately the polyps are not opening up and its starting to loss color. I have tried different placements throughout the tank, but thats not helping. My water is fine and every other coral is doing well. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong.

The polyps not extending could also be a sign that the coral is being wellfed, from dissolved organic matter or who knows what. Hows polyp extension from other SPS corals in your system?

The alk test i used came back as normal. As for placement i started high and lowered to middle after talking to other reefers on this site. I guess i was supposed to start at middle and gradually move up. It would open aliitle when i had it in the upper part of the tank. When i moved it to the middle it no longer would open. I have recently moved the coral back to the top, but so far nothing.

i'd say gv it time. as long as its not dying, it will ecentually open up once acclimated.
