monti ?'s

are these diffucalte corals to keep and where go they like to be placed in a tank and other info. i got new lights for my 55 gallon and i have wanted the for a while but i dont want to kill 1 any help is apreciated! thanks and merry christmas!

It depends on what species of montipora, some are much more difficult to keep than others. What type of lights did you get? I would start out with a monti capricornis (which plates) or a monti digitata (which branches). They do well with strong lighting and good, random flow.

Man Yosemite Sam, you are quick on the draw. I agree, "Caps" are the easiest to start out with, Digi's should do OK too. You can try encrusting types just go slow to see if they will do OK with your lighting, if it isn't T5 or MH. At least in my tank, the encrusting monti's grow a little slower than the others.
