Ok i have a green monti frag and a purple monti frag. Would it be ok to mount them on a big rock together? Will they fight, when they grow? Would you do it?
Thanks,
Kyle

I'd do it. As they grow, if it is a problem, they will grow in different directions.
I have various monti frags on the same rocks...never been a problem.

Ok well I'm gonna go ahead and do it. They are monti caps by the way. Will that make any difference?

I personally would not mount them together. The M. capricornis grows quick, and eventually one of them will become dominant and possibly kill off the other specimen.

I haven't had any issues as of yet with mine. It is always a risk with any corals, but in a tank full of them, it happens from time to time.
I wouldn't mount them 1/2 inch from the other, but on the same rock doesn't necessarily mean an instant problem.
This is of course just my opinion.

Well, I mounted them on opposite sides of a 6" across rock. If something happens i can break them off...
Thanks,
Kyle

I have seen pics of a green and orange growing into each other. But, that doesn't mean it will happen in all cases......
