watts per gallon isnt a good indicator when it comes to corals. monti will need t5 or mh will thrive. what kind of montipora r u planning to keep?

if yours is a decent mh fixture, then thats enough light for monti. just make sure calcium an alk r at correct level with very low to no nitrate.

should be fine, montis are lower demaning when it comes to lighting.. they still need all the basic requirements like ALK, calcium, flow, magnesium, low phosphates, low nitrates

It would be better to just superglue it to your rock. Just put glue on the bottom and stick it to the rock that you wish to glue it on. Any superglue gel will work and it cures instantly. If it's a big rock, put the glue on and press it on the rock making sure to twist slightly to break the film the water made over the glue.
