Moonlights that follow the lunar cycle

I purchased a system that does this and wanted to share some of the noticeable changes.
1) My GSM's lay eggs about every 10 days

2) My shrimp and hermits molt on a more frequently.
3) Corals look happier in general
I guess this kind of synchronized the tank. If you were thinking about getting a system, I found it to be well worth the money.
 I have these lights set to come on just after the actinics go off. Anyone recomend how long to run them?

what is your cycle of lights you run.
I have th Orbit light with moon lights.
Do you just turn on actinics in the morning..then add the daylights later..actinics at night then the moonlights till you wake up.

Is that not part of the cycle programming?

you can leave your moonlights on all day/night if you want... When your high powered lights come on your moonlights are faded out and unnoticeable to your fish.

The intensity is done by computer but you pick the on and off time.

Currently:
actinics:
On:1:00
Off: 11:00PM
MH:
On 2:00
off: 10:00
Just curious do you run the moons from 11:00 to ???????
I am not sure if the fish need complete darkness.

If you want to complete a true lunar cycle...
then there must be darkness.
Google these lunar lights "Fishbowl innovations".

Just wondering, how long did you have the lunar lights for before your maroons layed their first batch of eggs?

I've had 4 batches of eggs over the past 6 months. I 've had my pair for 1 year. The first 6 months no action which is understandable. There is no pattern. I would turn on the moon lights(ones in the light fixture) from time to time 2-3 times a month if that.
The lights have been running for 1 month now and this is my 3rd round of eggs.
6 days to answer your question and now it is like clock work.

I can snap some pics tonight.
Mounting was very easy. I have a coralife aqua light pro 72" They supply sticky tape and brackets to mount the lights. I simply placed them on the blank inserts between the MH and moonlights on the fixture and ran the wires on the inside so they are not hanging down. Do not want to run the risk of getting in the tank.
The most amazing thing is the light is evenly distributed over the entire tank.
I will take some pics tonight. :joy:

Do you set the cycle to where they're from or where you live? Is there a difference? I know sunlight hours and intensity is widely varied but I don't know if it's the same idea for moonlight. Any astrologers out there?
